The deal between us.
These are the rules for using the Haloa waitlist and, soon, the Haloa app. No fine print: just what we expect from each other.
Accepting these terms
By joining the waitlist or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Haloa. Simple.
Your account
- One account per person. No multiple profiles, no fake identities.
- You give honest information: your real name as you want to be known, recent photos of yourself, your real age.
- You are at least 18 years old.
What the service is
Haloa is a dating platform that puts you in touch with a small number of other members at a time. We provide the technology and the rules.
We do not guarantee matches, relationships, or any specific number of contacts. Nobody can. We do our best to put quality above quantity.
Your responsibility
- Your profile is accurate and yours.
- You only use photos you have the right to use, and they don't depict others without their consent.
- You treat other members with respect. No harassment, no hate speech, no unsolicited nude images, no scams.
- What you do off-app, on a date, is your own responsibility. Be careful as you would with any stranger.
What we do
- We review photos to keep obvious fakes and inappropriate content out.
- We enforce the cooldown rule: prolonged silence makes the match disappear, and the silent member is paused from swiping for a while. No exceptions.
- We suspend or remove accounts for abuse, fraud or repeated reports.
- We rely on human moderation, not on a hidden per-member score.
Ending your account
You can close your account any time in the app or by emailing info@haloa.world. Within 30 days we delete your profile, photos and chats, except for what we are legally required to keep (for example during an open abuse investigation).
We can suspend or close your account for breach of these terms, with an explanation by email.
Liability
Haloa is a platform that makes meetings possible. We are not the people you meet. For what happens between members, we carry no responsibility beyond what the law requires.
We do our best to keep the service available and safe, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. Our liability is limited to the minimum that Belgian consumer law sets.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes are settled by the competent Belgian courts, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer rights you have to bring a case before the courts of your own country.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. For meaningful changes we email active members at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the app, you accept the new version.
