What we do with your data.

In short: we collect the minimum, we sell nothing, and we answer emails. This policy spells out exactly what we do and don't do with the information you trust us with.

Who we are

We run the Haloa waitlist and build the Haloa app. For anything privacy-related, reach us at info@haloa.world.

What we collect

What we keep today is deliberately small:

  • Email address you give us on the waitlist, plus the date you signed up and the language you used.
  • Server logs (IP address, timestamp) kept for at most 30 days for abuse prevention.
  • Cookies / localStorage only to remember your language choice.
  • Anonymous visitor statistics via Cloudflare Web Analytics: cookieless, no personal data and no advertising cookies.

Once the app launches, we will also process profile data, photos, preferences and chat messages. We will update this policy for the first live release and let you know in advance.

Why we process it

Per category, the legal basis under GDPR art. 6:

  • Waitlist email: your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Server logs: legitimate interest in keeping the service running and secure.
  • Language preference in localStorage: necessary for the site to work, no consent required.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist email: until app launch plus 30 days after you opt out, then deleted.
  • Server logs: 30 days at most.
  • Future app data: as long as your account is active, plus a 30-day deletion window after closure.

Who we share it with

For the waitlist we use MailerLite (email service) to store your address and email you around launch, and Cloudflare for hosting and anonymous analytics. Once the app launches we will add services for login and push notifications, and update this policy then.

We do not sell data, we run no ad targeting, and we share nothing with data brokers or ad networks. If we ever add a new processor, it gets listed here first.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, port your data, and withdraw consent. One email to info@haloa.world is enough. We answer within 30 days, usually faster.

Filing a complaint

Not happy with how we handle it? You can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority via dataprotectionauthority.be. We'd rather you talk to us first at info@haloa.world.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything, we update the date at the bottom. Waitlist members get an email about any change that affects them directly, especially when the app goes live.
